Consecration of the Grand Priory of Congo
September 2011
Investiture of the Grand Priory
The Supreme Grand Priory of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem, by means of a decree numbered 152/11, has authorised the setting up and consecration of the new Grand Priory of Congo, led by its Grand Prior, the Most Reverend Bishop Ejiba Yamapia ECLJ. This new Grand Priory, which was coordinated before its foundation as an integral part of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus by Bishop Thomas Mount, the Grand Prior of the United States, as part of his ministry under the World Miracle Network, is designated as a Grand Priory in Distress. This is due to the fact that the everyday pressing needs related to hands-on Hospitaller work is constant and great. In fact, the Grand Priory's sterling Hospitaller work is amply demonstrated by means of its two orphanages in Kinshasa and Kananga, which cater for both boys and girls.
The Grand Prior executes a noble program of Hospitaller work by means of a dedicated and voluntary team, including the Chancellor of the Grand Priory, the Most Reverend Bishop Kanku Badibake and the Secretary of the Grand Priory, Pastor Onesime Kubanay.
The orphanages include also a team of dedicated confreres and consoeurs, including Confrere David Lukusa Kubanayi and Consoeur Fidelie Mukundi which take care of the Kinshasa orphanage and Confrere Jonas Dibondo and Consoeur Marie Matala who are responsible for the orphanage of Mutoto in Kananga.
We wish our confreres and consoeurs the very best and, on behalf of the Supreme Grand Priory, we thank them for their sterling and devoted services in this part of the African continent.
