Grand Priory of Congo: Running an Orphanage (July 2011)
The final touches and decrees are being scheduled during the summer months of 2011 in order for the Supreme Grand Priory of the Order to be in a position to officially announce the setting up of the Grand Priory of Congo. Its remit will be simple. To run the 164 children strong orphanage which is situated in the Democratic Republic of Congo and to enhance the services and structures within the orphanage which have been granted to the orphanage by the government of Congo.
This is indeed a landmark outreach by the Order which will continue to project the hands-on Hospitaller work which has been the primary aspect of the Order’s work world wide ever since its founding in 1995. The orphanage is run by the missionaries and volunteers of the World Miracle Network, by means of its energetic and charismatic leader, His Grace, the Most Reverend Bishop Thomas Mount ECLJ, who is also the Grand Prior of the Grand Priory of the Order in the United States, where he is based.
The Order is proud to be associated with such a project and the Supreme Grand Priory will ensure that all the Grand Priories will be assisting this noble project, which, in itself, is a tremendous logistical feat since the caring of so many orphans who have lost their parents to AIDs is indeed not a task to be taken without proper and constant backup.
The Grand Priory of Hungary, by means of its close synergy with the Order of Saint John in its country, is also presently assisting this project by means of making available much-needed medicinal aid for the exclusive usage of the Grand Priory of Congo.
